Influence of Learning Environment and Instructional Resources on Academic Performance of Business Education Students in Delta State Tertiary Institutions
Abstract:
This study examined the influence of learning environment and instructional resource on academic performance of Business Education students in Delta State Tertiary Institutions. Four research questions were raised to guide the investigation.
The descriptive survey was used as the design of the study. Population of the study comprised 908 business Education students from Delta State tertiary institutions in the 2024/2025 academic session. The sample size of 227 was arrived at using the simple random sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was use for data collection from the respondents. Mean and Standard Deviation was used to answer the research questions. The findings of the study revealed that physical space influence business education students’ academic performance in Delta State tertiary institutions to a high extent. Also, the finding also showed that instructional resources significantly influence business education students’ academic performance in Delta State Tertiary Institutions. The study concluded that instructional resources are a better predictor of Business Education students’ academic performance in Delta State Tertiary Institutions than learning environment. The study recommended amongst others that management of Delta State tertiary institutions should ensure that the institutions does not lack instructional resource since it enhance students’ academic performance.
